So i started pin striping about 9 months ago, and i'm at the point where i'm starting to get confidant with some of my lines and art. i know there's some artists and such on here, and while i don't consider myself to be on the artsy side, i thought you all might enjoy some of it.

typically, while i'm out running, i look for random sheet metal that i can stripe/ resurrect into art. i found this tin can under the 57 freeway in the creek at Tonner Canyon while scrounging around 2 weeks ago. it was all nice and rusty--just how i like 'em. i took it home, hit it with the wire brush and then painted it with "Vanilla Shake" white--the same paint color as my truck wheels.

this is my first attempt at the "von dutch flying eyeball." hope you enjoy it. picture is a little fuzzy--taken with camera phone. battery is charging with my digital camera. will have new pics of other work tomorrow.

I think you have a good start there, pinstriping is a very cool art form. The only advise I could give is study the greats like Von Franco and Skratch. Look at their lines, you can read them like a book in terms of heavy handed/light handed, brush strokes, etc. Kenneth Howard (Von Dutch) will always be known as the best. Im not such a fan of his considering what a nut and a racist he was but I can appreciate his work.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">please dont do that.. i have some nice scars (tattoos) from guys just like you, good ol kitchen wizards. I hope by now people realize that good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good. If you must, start off tattooing homeless guys not your friends.

I wouldn't put ink on someone without ALOT of practice. Im talking about taking my time and working my way into it. Like I said I'm not much of an artist I know I couldn't grab a gun and do even a halfway decent job. I'm gonna start out tattooing fruit or maybe lunch meat.

I forgot about him but yeah, Tommy the Greek did some amazing stuff not to mention Larry Watson. Larry Watson to me personally is the king of painting and pinstriping and also the Godfather of the Bellflower kustom.

Franco is good, i enjoy his work. i took a class by Herb Martinez, i think it was the first class he offered. looks like he'll be doing 1-2 sessions a year.

Howard (dutch) is good, but even he said that he liked Tommy the Greek and learned from him. being from Oakland, the Greek's influence is everywhere up there, and i'm trying to learn that style. i'll try to get some more pics tonight.

any other pin stripers here? any requests for something or something social d related?
